As Downtown Sarasota expands, restaurateurs are taking advantage of Sarasota’s stunning views to open more rooftop bars. For a time, the city did not have any rooftop bars after Ceviche on First Street closed in 2013. Now, Downtown Sarasota has The Roof Bar and Eats atop the Westin Hotel as well as Perspective, located on the roof of the Art Ovation Hotel. North of downtown, Oak & Stone plans to open a ninth-story rooftop bar at the Marriott Springhill Suites this October. With Sarasota’s siganture sunsets over the beautiful bay, it’s no surprise people are investing in running and visiting rooftop bars.
